Job summary

The City of Denton is seeking a GIS professional to develop, implement, and manage GIS data, maintain spatial databases, and support system integrations. You will guide internal stakeholders, coach staff on best practices, and help ensure data quality and integrity across division projects.

Responsibilities include designing and maintaining GIS database applications, coordinating with Technology Services, and supporting city electric utility GIS needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in GIS, Geography, Computer Science, Applied Science, or related field.
• Three (3) years' experience in developing, implementing, and maintaining GIS data, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, implement, and maintain GIS data and schema across division databases.
• Coordinate GIS projects and liaise with stakeholders to meet deadlines.
• Train and supervise staff; ensure data quality, QC procedures, and SOP adherence.
• Create and maintain GIS maps documenting infrastructure for internal/external use.
