Job summary

City of Denton seeks an experienced leader to oversee area operations, programs, and facilities within Parks and Recreation. You will coordinate with city staff and external partners to promote successful programming and ensure compliance with regulations and budgets.

The role includes supervising staff, developing performance measures, managing budgets, and guiding aquatics operations to meet safety standards and community needs. Strong collaboration and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Parks & Recreation Administration, Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field.
• Three years’ municipal or related field experience; two years in a supervisory role.
• For Aquatics, three years’ experience in swimming pool operations and management.

Responsibilities

• Manage assigned area operations and programs resources and ensure services meet standards and regulations.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to promote, implement, and succeed programs.
• Assist with establishing team performance measures and ensure accreditation requirements are met.
• Oversee development and implementation of programs and activities within facilities.
• Review trends and evaluate programs to align with mission, vision, and budget resources.
• Oversee aquatics operations including staffing, training, and safety compliance.
