Job summary

JACK Entertainment in Cleveland, Ohio seeks a strategic VP, General Counsel to lead the legal function, shape the company’s strategy, and manage risk across a highly regulated gaming environment.

You will serve as principal legal advisor to the Board and executive leadership, oversee regulatory compliance (gaming, alcohol, employment, privacy, AML), and guide commercial transactions and real estate leasing.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience as a practicing lawyer.
• Proven track record in commercial contracting, litigation management and advising executive leadership.
• Meaningful experience with labor and employment, regulatory compliance, corporate governance, and gaming industry is preferred but not required.
• Experience using or implementing AI and other legal technology tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Serve as principal legal advisor to the Board of Managers and executive leadership team.
• Translate complex legal and regulatory issues into clear, practical business guidance.
• Oversee regulatory compliance framework including gaming, alcohol, employment, privacy and AML.
• Draft and negotiate commercial agreements and real estate leases; maintain templates and playbooks.
• Manage entity formation, governance documents, and the company’s IP portfolio.
• Improve legal processes and leverage technology while maintaining confidentiality and judgment.
• Direct outside counsel from claim inception through resolution.
