Job summary

The Hertz Corporation is seeking a senior accounting professional to lead research on complex transactions and ensure proper US GAAP treatment. You will present findings to executive management and coordinate with internal partners and external auditors for timely reporting.

Ideal candidates have Big 4 experience, CPA, and 5–8 years of related work experience, with strong communication and leadership capabilities. Hybrid/remote options may be considered based on location.

Qualifications

• Big 4 audit experience and 5–8 years of related work experience
• CPA and accounting license or eligibility
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS and SEC regulations
• Experience with external auditor consultations and SEC comment letters
• Proven ability to manage and direct the work of others
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities

Responsibilities

• Consult with internal business partners on complex transactions to ensure proper accounting and reporting.
• Inform management on new accounting and regulatory standards (SEC, FASB, IASB).
• Review external financial reporting documents (10-Q, 10-K, S-1, 8-K).
• Coordinate with external reporting to prepare 10-Q and 10-K filings.
• Research technical accounting matters and author memos and papers.
• Communicate policy and technical matters to senior management.
• Evaluate complex transactions for proper accounting and structuring options.
• Interact with internal and external auditors on accounting matters.
• Oversee month- and quarter-end reconciliations and journal entries to close on time.
• Ensure GAAP-compliant financial reporting in the general ledger.
• Direct team members in significant account analyses and independent work.
• Adhere to Sarbanes-Oxley and internal controls; monitor control points.
• Provide insights to FP&A for monthly forecast and annual plan.
• Foster a productive environment with tight deadlines and teamwork.
• Preferred in Altana, GA / Estero, FL or OKC, but open to remote.
