The Arc of Howard County is seeking a Director of Resource Development to advance the organization’s mission by implementing a comprehensive fundraising strategy. You will oversee annual giving, government grants, and events, while managing donor data and coordinating with remote fundraising consultants.

You will lead grant writing efforts, steward relationships with individuals, foundations, and corporations, and collaborate on communications and events to build a sustainable funding pipeline

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience.
• 5+ years of fundraising, external communications, public relations, or related experience.
• Proven track record of cultivating relationships and securing funding from individuals, foundations, and corporations.
• Excellent writing and editing skills with a focus on philanthropic writing (foundation and grant applications).
• Strong leadership, strategic thinking and project management.
• Excellent communication skills (written and spoken).
• Appreciation for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families.
• CFRE certification preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Oversee and manage the organization’s development activities, including annual giving, corporate giving & sponsorships, foundations, government grants/contracts & grants systems.
• Work with the Executive Director and remote fundraising consultants to implement a clear fundraising strategy and realistic goals.
• Serve as a spokesperson and connector to Arc of Howard County’s mission.
• Plan and execute all events for the organization (Gala/Open House, Golf Fundraiser, Celebration of Excellence, Holiday Celebration, Staff Appreciation Days).
• Oversee all foundation, grant and corporate applications and develop a system for timely grant reporting.
• Collaborate on external communications strategies including newsletter, annual report, and social media.
• Ensure donor data reliability and implement data systems and processes for updating data.
• Manage a donor portfolio and oversee the Resource Development Committee.
• Ensure donors receive proper stewardship with timely acknowledgments and cultivation opportunities.
• Manage in-kind donations and coordination of volunteers.
• Staff liaison on committees; support the board and staff relationship managers.
