Job summary

The Arc of Howard County is seeking a Director of Resource Development to drive fundraising strategy and increase philanthropic revenue from individuals, foundations, corporations, and government sources. The role collaborates with the Executive Director and a remote fundraising coach to oversee annual giving, government grants, and major events.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in fundraising, strong writing, and leadership skills. CFRE is preferred; familiarity with DonorPerfect is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree OR equivalent education and experience combined (3 to 5 years).
• Minimum of 5 years of fundraising, external communications or related experience.
• Proven track record in securing funding from individuals, foundations, and corporations.
• Excellent writing and editing skills focused on philanthropic grant writing.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all fundraising activities including annual giving, corporate and foundation grants.
• Develop and implement a clear fundraising strategy with realistic goals.
• Manage donor data systems and ensure timely donor stewardship and acknowledgments.
• Plan and execute events such as galas, golf fundraisers, and other major gatherings.
• Coordinate with consultants and leadership to meet short- and long-term funding needs.
