Job summary

Howard County Arts Council in Ellicott City, MD seeks a self-directed Development Director to lead fundraising, communications, and community engagement initiatives. The role drives strategies to sustain and grow contributions and revenue to support the annual budget and goals.

Reporting to the Executive Director, the position manages three part-time staff, oversees Salesforce, finance and communications platforms, and represents HoCo Arts at community events.

Qualifications

• BA and 5+ years non-profit or office administration with 3+ years in development/fundraising with increasingly greater responsibilities.
• Must be able to use a computer and be proficient in Microsoft Office, Salesforce, and/or similar applications.
• Must have own transportation; be able to operate an automobile; computers, and other office equipment; occasionally lift up to 50 pounds; remain seated for long periods; and bend, stoop, reach, and climb without difficulty.

Responsibilities

• Plan and drive fundraising, community engagement strategies, and activities to sustain and grow contributions and revenues.
• Provide leadership across the organization to coordinate fundraising, communications, and community engagement with the board, staff, and constituents.
• Manage 3 part-time employees and oversee Salesforce, finance, accounting, and communication platforms; represent HoCo Arts at community events.
