Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in Tempe, AZ is seeking a Freight Brokerage Strategic Account Manager to develop and support a portfolio of customers by building a network of transportation providers and developing a carrier coverage strategy.

You will work with cross-functional teams to align service levels, mentor SMAs, negotiate rates to meet margins and commission targets, and ensure loads are tendered, dispatched, tracked, and delivered on time while complying with regulations.

Qualifications

High School Diploma/GED required; Bachelor's in business, logistics, or related field preferred.
3+ years in business, logistics, or related operations is preferred.
MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) at an intermediate level.
Willingness to travel 1–10%.

Responsibilities

Develop relationships with transportation providers to maximize penetration of customer freight portfolio.
Mentor SMAs; manage performance and development of staff.
Tender loads, create loads, set appointments, dispatch, and track/trace loads; communicate with carriers and customers.
Negotiate rates to ensure margins for commissions and account goals.
Plan and schedule coverage for loads to meet customer needs on time.
Ensure compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulations.
Update load statuses in the TMS and maintain customer satisfaction.
Perform other duties as assigned.
