Job summary

NFI is seeking a Freight Broker to lead the carrier lifecycle for the Brokerage division, sourcing, onboarding, negotiating, and managing strategic carrier partnerships to hit cost and service goals. This role requires independent judgment to evaluate and develop carriers, influencing network capacity and profitability.

You will work with the Capacity Manager or Director of Capacity, manage carrier performance, negotiate rates, and drive process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Business, Supply Chain or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in transportation brokerage or logistics operations.
• Experience in rate negotiation, margin management, and carrier sourcing strategy.
• Market knowledge of truckload lanes and rates.
• Strong communication and relationship management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead carrier lifecycle: sourcing, onboarding, negotiating, and managing partnerships.
• Approve, onboard, and offboard carriers per qualification and risk requirements.
• Maintain carrier pipeline and optimize capacity for profitability.
• Analyze lane performance and KPI data to improve service and costs.
• Negotiate contracts and spot rates within set margins; support quarterly business reviews.
