Job summary

NFI Industries is seeking a Freight Broker to lead the carrier lifecycle for the Brokerage division, including sourcing, onboarding, negotiating, and managing strategic carrier partnerships to meet operational and profitability goals.

You will evaluate and develop carriers, approve onboarding, manage capacity allocation, and monitor performance with KPI reviews, while collaborating with sales and operations to support customer growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, or related field required.
• 3–5 years of experience in transportation brokerage, carrier management, or logistics operations.
• Experience in rate negotiation, margin management, and carrier sourcing strategy.
• Strong analytical, financial acumen, and decision-making skills.
• Proficient in TMS, Excel, and analytics/reporting tools used in brokerage services.

Responsibilities

• Lead carrier lifecycle from sourcing to onboarding and partnerships.
• Negotiate rates within defined margins and profitability thresholds.
• Own daily operational decisions on carrier assignments and load coverage.
• Analyze lane performance and carrier scorecards to improve service and profitability.
• Mentor junior staff and participate in capacity forecasting and margin improvements.
• Represent NFI Brokerage at industry events to strengthen partnerships.
