Coalesce Management Consulting is seeking a Senior Financial & Project Controls Analyst to lead planning, forecasting, budgeting, and cost management for large capital programs in the utilities sector in Kentucky. You will collaborate with Project Management, Engineering, Construction, and Finance to deliver accurate forecasts and actionable insights.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related field.
5+ years of FP&A, project controls, cost management, utility finance, or capital project finance.
Experience with large capital programs in electric utilities, transmission, substations, or related sectors.
Strong budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, modeling, capital accounting, and cost management.
Knowledge of GAAP, FERC accounting, utility finance, and regulatory accounting practices.
Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with ERP systems, financial planning platforms, project controls software, and BI tools.
Ability to influence stakeholders and provide strategic financial guidance.
Strong analytical, communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and cost management for capital projects.
Develop multi-year financial plans, budgets, forecasts, cash flow projections, and scenario analyses.
Analyze financial performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying variances, risks, and opportunities.
Partner with Project Managers to establish baseline budgets and assess financial impacts of scope changes.
Oversee expenditures, accruals, capitalization, work orders, transfers, and financial reporting.
Prepare executive dashboards, KPI reports, and presentations on financial performance and forecasts.
Evaluate cost and schedule trends, identify overruns, and recommend improvements.
Support regulatory filings, rate cases, data requests through analyses and assumptions.
Coordinate with Finance to ensure GAAP and regulatory compliance.
Enhance forecasting models, reporting tools, and project controls processes.
Lead financial reviews, communicate risks and funding needs, and provide recommendations.
Drive forecasting accuracy and cost controls across the portfolio.
