Job summary

Smartly in New York is seeking a Finance Business Partner to join our Commercial Finance/FP&A team. This role will bridge Finance and the business, delivering financial insight, analysis, and decision support to drive growth and profitability.

The ideal candidate has 4–8 years in Commercial Finance/FP&A or related fields, with SaaS or agency experience being desirable. Strong Excel, SQL, and data modelling skills are essential, plus ability to influence senior stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 4–8 years in Commercial Finance/FP&A/Consulting or PE/VC.
• SaaS or Agency experience desirable.
• Advanced Excel with SQL and data modelling skills.
• Ability to turn numbers into narrative for leadership.

Responsibilities

• Act as a strategic partner to leadership, delivering financial analyses and recommendations.
• Track, forecast, and analyze KPIs to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Lead quarterly forecasting and budget planning with department leaders.
• Support pricing, deal reviews, and investment cases with robust modelling.
• Drive process improvements in forecasting, reporting, and business partnering.
• Collaborate with Commercial, Ops and Product teams.
