Job summary

BNY is seeking a Senior Specialist, Business & Function Finance to join its Finance team in New York, NY. This role will serve as a key FP&A partner to Corporate Function leadership, delivering financial insights, planning support, and performance analysis that inform senior decision-making and strengthen financial discipline.

You will lead budgeting and forecasting for corporate areas, manage the monthly close, develop financial models, and translate data into actionable guidance;

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
• 4–7 years of FP&A or related finance experience.
• Strong analytical and financial modeling skills.
• Advanced degree or CPA/MBA is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to present to senior audiences.

Responsibilities

• Support budget planning and recurring forecast updates for assigned Corporate Function areas.
• Manage the monthly close process, tracking actual expenses and ensuring accurate reporting.
• Analyze actual results, forecasts, metrics, and scorecards; explain variances and prepare leadership commentary.
• Develop and maintain financial models and reporting that support planning and decision-making.
• Partner with Finance and Corporate Function stakeholders to translate data into actionable insights.
• Provide timely, accurate financial analysis highlighting risks, opportunities, and focus areas.
• Contribute to adherence to controls, policies, and continuous improvement across planning and reporting.
