cargo.one is hiring a Strategic Finance / FP&A Lead to build and run the finance function as a one-person team. You will own monthly results, budgeting, planning, and investment cases, shaping how AI spend translates into outcomes.

The role centers on creating reliable, scalable financial processes and partnering with leadership to allocate capital. You'll design the reporting engine, automate end-to-end processes, ensure data quality, and drive insightful analyses for executive decision-making,

Qualifications

• 5+ years owning or scrutinising numbers for B2B SaaS, usage-based or platform businesses.
• Experience building AI-enabled finance tools and architecture.
• Strong communication and ability to influence without formal authority.

Responsibilities

• Build and run the FP&A and strategic finance function as a one-person team.
• Own monthly performance, budget, plan, and capital allocation decisions.
• Automate reporting end-to-end and ensure data quality and security.
• Partner with CFO and leaders to translate numbers into action.
• Lead the design of incentive plans and watch metrics drive payroll decisions.
• Prepare board papers and SLT materials as needed.
