Job summary

Jobgether is partnering with a US-based organization to recruit a Director of Finance. The role leads budgeting, forecasting, and financial strategy in a remote-first, mission-driven environment.

You will own cash flow, margins, and financial infrastructure while advising senior leaders on headcount, pricing, and capital allocation. The ideal candidate has 7+ years in finance with strong FP&A, GAAP, and Excel skills, plus experience mentoring a finance team and partnering with executives.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, incl. at least 4 years in FP&A and 2 years leading a finance function.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• Demonstrated success leading financial operations in a small business, startup, or high-growth organization, with scalable processes.
• Advanced FP&A: budgeting, multi-period forecasting, scenario modeling, P&L and margin analysis, cash flow forecasting.
• Strong GAAP knowledge, internal controls, and financial reporting.
• Advanced Excel skills and practical QuickBooks experience.
• Strategic partner to executives with clear, actionable recommendations.
• Discretion handling confidential financial and personnel information.
• Experience leading and mentoring finance professionals.
• Excellent analytical, communication, planning, and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to Salem, Ohio.

Responsibilities

• Lead annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting with department heads.
• Build pro formas and scenario models to support growth and workforce planning.
• Deliver monthly variance analyses with business implications.
• Maintain KPIs, executive reporting, and standardized financial models.
• Analyze margins and pricing, vendor terms, and service mix.
• Assess financial impact of pricing changes, contracts, and new offerings.
• Maintain rolling 13-week and longer cash flow forecasts and working capital.
• Provide financial advisory to CAO and executives on headcount, expansion, and capital allocation.
• Prepare monthly P&L, cash, accounts receivable/payable, and variances reports.
• Develop scalable internal controls, workflows, and documentation.
• Lead system integrations and improvements (e.g., QuickBooks integration).
• Mentor Finance & Accounting Manager and oversee accounting quality.
