Job summary

Mutual of Enumclaw Insurance Holding Company is seeking a Director of Financial Planning & Analysis to lead FP&A activities for the organization, reporting to the CFO. The role manages two direct reports and partners with leadership to drive annual forecasting, planning, and strategic initiatives.

The position will build a planning roadmap, conduct industry analyses, and support holding company planning including business case development and Board‑level presentations.

Qualifications

• Strong finance and accounting acumen with knowledge of financial statements and core principles.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, able to present financial information to non‑financial audiences.
• Ability to leverage AI tools to accelerate learning, improve efficiency, and automate processes.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint with strong financial modeling; experience with planning/BI tools is a plus.
• Familiarity with GAAP and statutory accounting concepts and applying them to expanding portfolios.
• Strong organizational and time‑management skills for multiple deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
• Ability to work on‑site in Seattle four days per week.
• 5–10 years FP&A or corporate finance experience, incl. 2+ years of people leadership; P&C insurance/financial services preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree; MBA, CPA, or CFA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drive the annual financial forecasting and planning processes using key business drivers and lead the business plan development.
• Own monthly financial and operational review packages, including variance analysis against plan and forecast; streamline, enhance, and standardize content to surface impactful metrics and actions.
• Support AM Best annual review with financial analysis and content development.
• Prepare Board and executive materials, turning results and recommendations into clear, decision‑ready presentations.
• Evaluate and model new revenue and profit opportunities beyond traditional underwriting, including partnerships and acquisitions.
• Continuously improve FP&A tools, data, and processes, including planning systems and automated reporting.
• Assess investments using NPV, IRR, and scenario modeling; prioritize strategic investments.
• Provide strategic FP&A support including long‑range planning and due diligence; interpret insurance metrics.
• Build and maintain financial models for planning and trend analysis; support Investment Management and Reinsurance.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally on special projects with Product, Actuarial, HR, Claims, and IT.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
