Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in Columbia, SC is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to lead planning, evaluation and strategic initiative analysis, providing financial support to senior management and logistics leaders.

Required: Bachelor's/Master's in business, finance or accounting and 4+ years in finance/accounting with strong Excel skills; responsibilities include forecasting, branch performance analysis and month-end close.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in business, finance, accounting or related field.
Minimum of 4 years Finance/Accounting experience.
Strong understanding of income statements and balance sheets.
Advanced MS Excel skills: large data sets, vlookups/hlookups, pivots, filtering, waterfall charts.

Responsibilities

Forecasting, business planning and branch performance analysis (Financial Planning & Analysis).
Identify opportunities for cost/productivity improvements with GLM/LM stakeholders (Operational Initiatives).
Month-end closing including journal entries and variance explanations; general ledger investigations.
Customer invoicing and revenue posting to GL; monitor monthly aging reports.
Provide financial training to operations staff on policies, procedures and tools.
Support Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and act as liaison with Shared Services and Corporate Accounting.
