Job summary

Creative Dining Services is seeking a Food Service Director to lead our team at Missouri Baptist University in St. Louis, MO.

The Director will supervise unit operations, maximizing sales and profits while maintaining company standards and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate has a degree in Business or Hospitality Management, or 10+ years of managerial experience, with strong customer relations and budgeting skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business or Hospitality Management preferred; advanced degree desirable.
• In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, a minimum of 10 years successful managerial experience accepted.
• Proven superior customer relations skills with excellent communication.
• Must be detail-oriented and a strong problem solver with critical thinking.
• Experience facilitating formal training sessions.
• MS Office and general computer proficiency across platforms.
• Experience developing, managing and adhering to budgets.
• ServSafe Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Operations Director to prepare a period and yearly budget.
• Achieve maximum sales and profits within operating standards.
• Ensure understanding and adherence to purchasing and financial policies and procedures.
• Hire, train, coach, supervise, evaluate and manage performance of direct reports.
• Develop unit managers using gap analysis and create development plans.
• Ensure compliance with State and Federal employment rules and regulations.
• Evaluate total operational performance and ensure client satisfaction.
• Develop a complete quarterly operational review with the client.
• Plan and analyze merchandising and marketing programs.
• Hold regular team meetings and ensure effective internal communications.
• Maintain compliant written communications and ensure proper governance.
