Job summary

RMS Marine Service US LLC is seeking a planning Purchaser in Houston, TX to support supply chain activities by sourcing and negotiating food provisions from approved vendors. This role centers on vessel schedules and customer requirements, coordinating urgent and planned orders while ensuring quality and timely delivery.

Responsibilities include maintaining inventory records, building strong vendor relationships, monitoring market trends, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in food procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management.
• Strong negotiation skills and ability to manage vendor relationships.
• Knowledge of food safety standards, regulations, and quality control practices.
• Proficiency in inventory management systems and purchasing software.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Source, negotiate, and purchase food products and provisions from approved vendors and suppliers.
• Coordinate planning procurement around vessel schedules and customer requirements.
• Manage and coordinate urgent orders, planned orders, and key projects.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and purchasing documentation.
• Ensure on-time delivery of food provisions to meet schedules.
• Build and maintain relationships with vendors, distributors, and suppliers.
• Monitor market trends and pricing fluctuations to optimize purchasing decisions.
• Ensure purchased items meet quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
• Proficient in AX system operations to process urgent orders for next-day supply.
