The role includes purchasing, inventory monitoring, coordinating with suppliers, and expediting orders. Qualifications: high school diploma with college coursework, at least 6 months in food-purchase roles, and proficiency with Word, Excel, and AS/400.

Qualifications

• High school diploma with 2 years of college or equivalent.
• At least 6 months experience in purchasing/buyer in the food production industry.
• Able to pass comprehension and math tests.
• Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and AS 400.

Responsibilities

• Perform purchasing activities and monitor inventory to meet orders.
• Determine order timing based on policies and budget.
• Verify pricing, freight charges; resolve invoice discrepancies.
• Coordinate with departments to update and expedite purchase orders.
• Review inventory for shortages or excess and take corrective action.
• Enter and track supplier deviations and credits.
• Maintain records and assist clerical tasks.
• Provide inventory assistance as needed.
• Attend daily team meetings; perform other duties as assigned.
