Job summary

Wanzek is seeking a Fleet Manager to lead procurement, scheduling and financial analysis of owned, rented, or leased equipment assets. You will develop fleet policies, oversee a travel‑heavy schedule, and drive cost efficiency across projects.

The role requires 5+ years in fleet or equipment management, strong vendor relations, and proficiency with Primavera/Viewpoint. Expect 50% travel and a focus on safety and process improvement.

Qualifications

• Associates degree preferred and/or combination of education and experience
• 5+ years relevant experience; supervisory experience preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Primavera, Viewpoint and Construction Software techniques
• Read, analyze and interpret specifications, contracts and regulations; write reports and documents
• Must be able to travel up to 50% and drive/transport to regional locations

Responsibilities

• Lead Fleet management staff in procurement, scheduling and management of internal and external equipment assets to support project teams
• Write and implement policies and SOPs to provide structured processes for fleet management
• Promote and comply with all Company safety policies and procedures
• Provide financial analysis on equipment fleet and advise on CapEx purchases
• Establish relationships and negotiate with vendors to rent, lease or purchase equipment assets
• Forecast needs with project teams and schedule assets to satisfy requests while maximizing utilization
• Review and approve invoices, POs and quotes related to equipment rental and purchase
• Negotiate terms of Purchase, Lease or Rental with vendors
• Collect data into a management system to evaluate fleet health and availability
• Supervise telematics implementation to monitor, bill projects and create usage reports
• Analyze internal fleet rental and rate structures and assist estimating teams
• Manage the Annual CapEx budget for Equipment Department and supervise staff
