Job summary

ERock in Houston, TX seeks an experienced Fleet Manager to own enterprise fleet strategy, DOT/FMCSA compliance, and lifecycle planning. You will lead safety, regulatory, and cost initiatives, coordinating with Safety, HR, Legal, Finance, and operations to keep vehicles and drivers compliant and reliable.

The role reports to the VP of Planning & Inventory and is on-site in Houston. You will drive vendor negotiations, budgeting, KPI reporting, and data-driven improvements across procurement,

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience owning/administering a DOT/FMCSA compliance program for a commercial fleet.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, supply chain, transportation, safety, or related field (or equivalent).
• At least 7 years in fleet/transportation/logistics with 3+ years leading a fleet function or enterprise program.
• Working knowledge of federal/state/local motor vehicle regulations affecting business stakeholders.
• Experience managing fleet budgets, vendors, and maintenance programs.
• Proficient with fleet management software, telematics, GPS, and reporting tools.
• Strong leadership, project management, analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Own the enterprise fleet strategy, operating model, policies, and multi-year roadmap for acquisition, utilization, maintenance, replacement, and disposal.
• Lead DOT/FMCSA compliance program, including driver qualification, logs, hours-of-service, drug/alcohol testing, inspections, filings, and audits.
• Maintain regulatory records and monitor compliance indicators, elevating risks promptly.
• Collaborate to establish driver qualification, onboarding, training, authorization, and remedial actions.
• Direct preventive maintenance, inspections, repairs, recalls, registrations, permits, and insurance.
• Develop and manage fleet budget, forecasts, and total-cost-of-ownership models; advise on lease vs. buy decisions.
• Define KPIs for safety, compliance, utilization, downtime, cost, fuel efficiency, and vendor performance.
• Administer and optimize fleet management systems, telematics, GPS, maintenance data, and reporting.
