Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a strategic and operationally focused Equipment Solutions Manager - Fleet Management to lead governance, lifecycle management, compliance, cost performance, and continuous improvement of Mortenson’s vehicle fleet.

This role will serve as the centralized business owner for fleet operations, helping establish standardized processes, improve data visibility, strengthen DOT and regulatory compliance, optimize vehicle utilization, and support scalable growth across Mortenson’s

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• 5+ years of fleet, transportation, logistics, asset management, or related experience.
• Experience with multi-state vehicle compliance, DOT requirements, licensing, registration, or related regulatory processes.
• Strong financial acumen with operating cost analysis and lifecycle costing.
• Ability to build processes, standardize workflows, and lead cross‑functional initiatives.
• Experience managing vendor relationships and external service providers.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain enterprise fleet governance standards and operating controls.
• Oversee lifecycle planning, replacement models, and asset utilization.
• Lead DOT and regulatory compliance oversight and risk management.
• Manage annual fleet budgeting, cost analysis, and financial reporting.
• Negotiate and manage vendor relationships and program performance.
• Develop dashboards, KPIs, and data governance for fleet operations.
• Partner with HR, Legal, Finance, Procurement and field leadership to support fleet needs.
• Support change management as standards and systems evolve.
