Job summary

This position is located in the Washington Headquarters Services (WHS), Financial Management Directorate, Accounting Division. The incumbent provides authoritative advice to management on financial issues and ensures the integrity of financial reporting for the Office of the Secretary of War (OSW), WHS, DFAS, and other DoW activities.

Qualifications include GS-11/12/13 levels with experience in financial management, budgeting, and internal controls.

Qualifications

• Analyzing discrepancies between financial systems and funding authorities, commitments and disbursements.
• Knowledge of accounting and budget procedures related to appropriation controls and fund transfers.
• Identify vulnerabilities and help develop solutions for major execution challenges.
• Participate in administrative and analytical duties related to program planning and financial execution.

Responsibilities

• Provide authoritative financial advice to management on reporting integrity for OSW and WHS entities.
• Support financial execution and reporting across DoW activities with expert guidance.
• Assist with internal controls and execution strategies for funds management.
