Our client in the mining services sector, based in Welkom, Free State, ZA, seeks an experienced Financial Controller to oversee all financial and accounting operations, ensuring IFRS-compliant reporting and strong internal controls. This senior role requires leadership to drive profitability and manage risk.

The ideal candidate will have a CA(SA)/CIMA/ACCA qualification, 8+ years of progressive accounting experience including 3+ years in a controller role, and proficiency with Sage or SAP.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• Professional accounting qualification (CA(SA), CIMA, ACCA) preferred.
• Minimum 8 years of progressive accounting/financial management experience, 3+ years in a controller role.
• Strong IFRS knowledge and South African tax legislation experience.
• Experience in mining or related industrial sector is advantageous.
• Leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills; excellent communication.

Responsabilidades

• Oversee all accounting operations including AP/AR/GL and payroll.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in IFRS.
• Develop and implement financial controls, policies, and procedures.
• Lead budgeting and forecasting with variance analysis for senior management.
• Ensure tax compliance and coordinate with external advisors.
• Manage finance team and relationships with banks and auditors.
• Conduct financial analysis to identify risks and opportunities for improvement.
• Manage treasury and liquidity; provide robust financial data for decision-making.
