Job summary

EMERGE Scholars in Houston, TX seeks a Vice President of Finance & Operations to lead the organization’s financial strategy, risk management, and technology infrastructure. This executive role builds the financial architecture behind a three-year plan, including multi-year models, unit economics, and scalable administration.

You will oversee budgeting, internal controls, and board reporting while guiding the shared services model across finance, events, and operations.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive experience across finance and operations.
• Experience owning an organizational budget or P&L and presenting financials to a finance committee or board.
• Track record of building operational infrastructure that outlasts its builder: controls, policies, contracts, technology, and administrative systems.
• Bachelor's degree required; CPA, MBA, or equivalent finance credential strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and own EMERGE's multi-year cash flow model with scenario planning.
• Establish unit economics by delivery tier and a working cost model for growth.
• Oversee the annual budget process end-to-end and maintain financial guardrails.
• Lead finance, events, and operations teams and present financial narratives to the board.
• Manage risk, compliance, contracts, and vendor relationships; implement reporting interfaces.
