Job summary

@Orchard LLC is seeking a Director of Finance & Business Operations to build and run the financial backbone of our growth. This senior, hands-on role spans finance, accounting, FP&A, project economics, ops, reporting, controls, systems, data, and process improvement.

Reporting to the CEO, the director will design and enhance models, processes, data flows, and governance to scale the business, ensuring margins, cash, and revenue integrity as we expand.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field; CPA/CMA preferred.
• 5+ years in government contracting economics and related finance.
• Experience with government compliant accounting and FP&A processes.
• Advanced Excel, financial modeling, and data-driven decision support.
• Ability to execute while guiding external resources and teams.

Responsibilities

• Own cash and liquidity visibility including 13-week forecasts.
• Lead budgeting, forecasts, scenario analysis, and profitability reviews.
• Analyze labor economics, utilization, and indirect costs.
• Develop management reports for leadership and governance.
• Maintain accounting integrity and financial controls across the org.
• Own close processes, COA design, and financial systems.
• Implement automation and AI to enhance analysis and efficiency.
