Job summary

Hone Health, a remote-first medical startup in the United States, seeks a VP of Finance to build and scale our financial foundation. You will partner with the executive team to drive forecasting, planning, and decision support, while owning the close, controls, and systems that enable sustainable growth.

You will lead a hands-on, strategic finance function, own capital planning and fundraising readiness, and partner with departments to embed financial rigor into all decisions as the company

Qualifications

• 10-15 years of progressive finance experience, including meaningful time in high-growth, venture-backed environments
• Direct, hands-on experience scaling a finance function through multiple rounds of venture financing (Series B or later) and/or an IPO or public-company-readiness process
• Demonstrated track record presenting financial strategy and results directly to boards of directors, investors, or C-suite decision-makers
• Experience operating as a senior finance leader (Head of Finance/VP Finance), with planning and performance management end-to-end
• Proven ability to build scalable processes (forecast/close cadence, controls, reporting, tooling) in resource-constrained environments
• Comfortable working hands-on while setting direction and influencing executives
• Strong communication and executive presence; align stakeholders and drive decisions with clarity
• Experience partnering with external providers (accounting, tax, payroll, audit) and navigating compliance
• Track record of delivering outcomes in a dynamic environment
• Experience in subscription, DTC, marketplace, or healthcare services businesses where unit economics and retention matter

Responsibilities

• Lead company-wide FP&A: forecasting, budgeting, long-range planning, scenario modeling, and performance management cadence
• Drive executive decision support: translate financial and operational signals into clear, actionable insights
• Direct cash and capital planning: manage runway, working capital, and key levers; support fundraising strategy
• Own the board-level financial narrative: deliver reporting package and KPIs for leadership and the Board
• Oversee close and accounting partnership: ensure reliable monthly close and collaboration with external/internal accounting
• Build scalable processes and controls: improve policies, internal controls, and finance workflows
• Own finance systems and tooling roadmap: evaluate and implement scalable planning and reporting tools
• Build and develop the finance function: hire/manage talent or coordinate contractors
• Partner cross-functionally to embed financial rigor in day-to-day decisions
