Job summary

StevenDouglas is seeking a Director of Finance and Accounting in Austin, TX, to own financial operations across multiple entities and support strategic growth. This hands-on leadership role balances complex reporting with day-to-day processes to ensure continuity when coverage is needed.

The candidate will oversee budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, consolidations, and internal controls while mentoring the accounting team and partnering with senior leadership on strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

• CPA or CPA candidate qualification is required.
• 7–8 years of progressively responsible accounting or financial management experience, preferably in private credit or private equity.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities tailored to specialty finance.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder management.
• Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and oversee the production of accurate financial statements (monthly, quarterly, and annually).
• Ensure GAAP compliance, tax regulations, and industry standards for private credit and private equity.
• Manage financial consolidations and intercompany reporting for multiple entities.
• Develop and manage annual budgets, long-term forecasts, and scenario planning models.
• Build advanced financial models for fund performance, cash flow projections, and valuation analysis.
• Provide actionable insights and financial recommendations to senior leadership.
• Manage cash flow to ensure operational liquidity.
• Lead treasury functions and banking relationships.
• Implement robust internal controls and coordinate external audits.
