Hildebrand, based in Cambridge, MA, is seeking a Director of Finance to lead the organization’s finance function, oversee ERP transition, and ensure GAAP-compliant nonprofit reporting. The role manages treasury, budgeting, and strategic financial planning in support of our mission to help families experiencing homelessness in greater Boston.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA licensure strongly preferred.
• 7+ years progressive accounting experience, including ≥2 years in a leadership role.
• Experience in education, nonprofit, or mission-based environments preferred.
• Expert understanding of GAAP, fund accounting, and nonprofit reporting requirements.

Responsabilités

• Lead transition to a new ERP system and oversee general ledger administration.
• Manage month- and year-end close, AP, AR, and GL maintenance.
• Oversee general ledger/ERP, payment processing, and expense applications.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and nonprofit financial reporting, including restricted funds.
• Manage treasury functions: cash management, banking relationships, investments, cash flow forecasting.
• Develop and implement fiscal policies, controls, and internal control systems.
• Coordinate with external auditors for tax prep and annual audits (Form 990, etc.).
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning.
• Provide financial analysis to support planning, fundraising, and sustainability.
• Lead finance team and mentor staff; collaborate across departments.
