Job summary

Buehler, a division of Illinois Tool Works, is a leading supplier of scientific equipment for material analysis. The Business Unit Controller for North America will oversee the accounting function, maintain internal controls, and champion ITW toolbox-driven improvements.

Responsibilities include month-end close, inventory management, forecasting, and financial analysis. The role reports to the Global Division Controller and requires on-site work in Illinois with some travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 7+ years of relevant experience; manufacturing industry preferred.
• Detailed orientated, organized, and able to work under pressure.
• Strong PC skills, data mining skills, system savvy and advanced understanding of MS Excel.
• Knowledge of GAAP.

Responsibilities

• Manage the month-end close process and prepare journal entries and reconciliations.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and data integrity with ITW controls.
• Provide leadership and development to the accounting team.
• Oversee inventory accounting, physical counts, and obsolescence.
• Support monthly/quarterly forecasting and budgeting processes.
• Prepare sales commission calculations and coordinate with HR.
• Lead financial planning for Annual and Long-Range Plans.
• Manage AR/AP, expenses, capital projects, and fixed assets.
• Collaborate with Division leadership on operational and strategic issues.
