Job summary

Suddath Companies is seeking a Finance Controller to lead accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls. This senior role requires strong FP&A and analytics, partnering with executives to drive profitability across manufacturing, inventory, and distribution activities.

The ideal candidate will guide a team, ensure timely reporting, and drive process improvements while maintaining rigorous controls and adherence to GAAP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• CPA/CMA certification is preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience.
• Manufacturing or furniture industry experience is highly desirable.
• Experience with ERP systems and budgeting tools is required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting functions including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll support, fixed assets, and month-end and year-end close.
• Prepare, review, and distribute timely financial statements, management reports, and variance analyses.
• Lead annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, and cash flow planning processes.
• Maintain strong internal controls and accounting policies to safeguard assets and ensure GAAP compliance.
• Monitor manufacturing and inventory financial performance, including standard costing and margin analysis.
• Partner with operations, sales, procurement, and leadership to evaluate pricing, profitability, and capex.
• Coordinate internal and external audits and tax/regulatory reporting requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement in financial systems, reporting accuracy, and process efficiency.
• Supervise and develop finance staff, setting priorities and ensuring quality output.
• Provide financial insight and recommendations to support strategic planning.
