Job summary

Chemstar WATER is seeking a seasoned Controller to lead all accounting, reporting, budgeting, and financial operations in a small, hands-on environment in Baltimore, MD. You will mentor a three-person finance team and partner with outside advisors to drive accurate numbers and strong controls.

The role emphasizes manufacturing costing, inventory oversight, and KPI reporting within an EOS framework. You’ll report to the CEO and shape the company’s financial future.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Proven track record as a Controller or senior accountant in a small company.
• Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, complex formulas.
• Strong experience with job costing, inventory management, cost control, FP&A, and cash flow management.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; ability to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop, and mentor a three‑person finance team (Payroll/AR, Staff Accountant, Financial Analyst).
• Own the month‑end close process and financial reporting package.
• Lead annual budgeting and rolling 18‑month forecast; provide cash flow projections.
• Oversee AR/AP, tax reporting, vendor payments, and revenue recognition.
• Collaborate with outside tax, banking, and insurance firms; support legal reviews.
