Job summary

Schaefer Plastics North America, LLC is seeking an experienced Controller to oversee daily accounting operations for our growing manufacturing organization. This hands-on leadership role involves mentoring a high-performing team while ensuring accurate financial reporting and strong internal controls.

The ideal candidate combines public accounting experience, manufacturing know-how, and a collaborative leadership style to drive process improvements and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
• CPA certification strongly preferred.
• Minimum of eight (8) years of progressive accounting experience.
• Public accounting experience (Big Four or regional) preferred.
• Experience managing external financial statement audits.
• Manufacturing industry accounting experience.
• Advanced knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
• Experience with ERP systems.
• Advanced Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
• Prepare and review financial statements per U.S. GAAP.
• Review journal entries, reconciliations, and balance sheet analyses.
• Maintain internal controls and reporting processes.
• Coordinate annual external audits and audit documentation.
• Support year-end reporting and compliance.
