Job summary

Ancora seeks an experienced accounting leader to step into Controller, owning the firm’s accounting across multiple entities. Reporting to the CFO, you will lead the team, manage the close, internal controls, and audit execution while guiding the large-scale Workday platform transition.

This hands-on role requires strong GAAP knowledge, people leadership, and a track record of improving processes. Located in Cleveland area with no remote option; competitive salary and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field; CPA strongly preferred.
• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience with ownership of close, reporting, and audit.
• Public accounting experience; external audit experience is advantageous.
• Direct people-management experience leading a distributed team.
• Experience with ERP systems (Workday, Acumatica, NetSuite, Sage Intacct).
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and process documentation.

Responsibilities

• Own monthly and quarterly close across multiple entities and business lines.
• Lead and develop the accounting team, including offshore resources.
• Own internal control environment and quarterly SOX reporting.
• Coordinate with external auditors on standalone audits for broker-dealer entities.
• Coordinate 401(k) plan audit with CFO partnership.
• Oversee quarterly management-fee billing, invoicing, and receivables.
