Job summary

Aston Carter seeks an Accounting & Finance Lead in Downers Grove, IL, to oversee the full accounting function, including general ledger, close processes, AP/AR, and project accounting. This contract-to-hire role requires strong GAAP knowledge and leadership to drive accuracy and timeliness.

You will partner with leadership, manage dashboards, budgeting, audits, and HR/payroll activities, while advancing automation and financial systems.

Qualifications

• Seven or more years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
• Experience in a Controller, Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller, or senior accounting leadership role.
• Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Experience supporting payroll, benefits administration, and human resources functions.

Responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of the accounting function including GL, AP, AR, and month-end close.
• Manage project accounting, including job costing, billing, revenue recognition, and profitability analysis.
• Prepare timely financial statements, forecasts, and management reports.
• Support audits, tax preparation, and regulatory reporting.
