Job summary

krwolfe seeks an experienced Controller to lead accounting and finance for a labor-intensive services and construction environment. You will own GAAP-compliant financial reporting, internal controls, and the system of record (Quickbase), while guiding multi‑contract billing, WIP, and project cost analyses across divisions.

You will build a high‑performing team, partner with operations and IT, and drive forecasting, budgeting, and actionable insights for growth and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred.
• 8–12 years progressive accounting experience; 4–6 years in senior leadership in labor-intensive services.
• GAAP mastery, internal controls, and financial reporting.
• Construction/service accounting expertise: billing, WIP, job costing, multi-contracts.
• ERP proficiency; Quickbase preferred; experience with SAP/NetSuite/Oracle/Sage is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and improvement of internal controls safeguarding assets and ensuring GAAP compliance.
• Own AR, AP, payroll, and general ledger; manage monthly close and financial statements.
• Drive cash flow via collections, AP management, forecasting, and billing accuracy.
• Ensure job-cost integrity across projects and divisions.
• Lead Quickbase as the system of record and drive real-time project cost visibility.
• Partner with operations and IT to enhance financial reporting and controls.
• Oversee annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, and scenario modeling.
• Manage multi-portal contract billing, progress payments, retention, and lien releases.
• Lead external audits and banking relationships; maintain compliance with regulations.
