Job summary

RPM Utilities seeks an experienced Controller to lead day-to-day accounting and financial operations for a growing construction organization. The role partners with executives to ensure accurate reporting, strong internal controls, and timely financial information for decision making.

The ideal candidate is hands-on with project-based accounting, job costing, WIP reporting, and close processes. Strong Excel and ERP experience are required to manage payroll, AR/AP, and GL activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles such as Controller or Accounting Manager.
• Strong background in construction, utilities, excavation, or project-based accounting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting and financial operations.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Manage month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Oversee job costing, WIP reporting, and cost-to-complete analysis.
• Review project costs, budgets, margins, change orders, and variances.
• Coordinate with project management and operations to identify financial risks and opportunities.
• Oversee AP/AR, billing, payroll accounting, and GL activity.
• Monitor cash flow and prepare cash flow forecasts.
• Ensure internal controls and strong financial processes are in place.
