Job summary

KR Wolfe Inc. seeks a hands-on Controller to lead Accounting & Finance for a labor-intensive services and construction business. You will own GAAP compliance, internal controls, and timely financial reporting, including project costs, WIP, and multi-contract billing.

You will drive Quickbase as the system of record, mentor the accounting team, and partner with executives to deliver actionable insights and profitability across divisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA strongly preferred.
• 8–12 years progressive accounting experience, including 4–6 years in Controller/senior leadership within labor-intensive services or construction.
• Proven mastery of GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting.
• Deep expertise in construction/service accounting: progress/milestone billing, change orders, retainage, WIP, and multi-contract management.
• Experience with ERP or ERP-like platforms (Quickbase highly valued; SAP/NetSuite/Oracle/Sage or equivalents).
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive system/process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Own accounting controls, compliance, and governance.
• Manage AR, AP, Payroll, and General Ledger close processes and financial statements.
• Lead Quickbase financial system enhancements and data visibility for project costs and revenue.
• Conduct divisional profitability analysis and strategic reporting for multiple sectors.
• Oversee multi-contract billing including progress payments, milestones, and retainage.
• Lead external audits, banking relations, and risk management.
• Build and mentor a high-performing accounting team.
