Job summary

Fastems Group in Cincinnati, OH is seeking a Controller who partners with U.S. leadership to safeguard financial integrity and transform data into insights for profitable growth. The role owns budgeting, forecasting and performance analysis, and prepares statements for group consolidation.

You will supervise the local accounting team and participate in the leadership team, ensuring GAAP compliance and strong internal controls while guiding strategic investment decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting, finance or business administration.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in business controlling, FP&A or accounting in an international company.
• Experience in manufacturing, capital equipment or project-based business is a strong plus.
• Proven budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis; project controlling experience is a plus.
• Experience supervising accounting staff.
• Knowledge of US GAAP or IFRS; SOX experience preferred.
• CPA or CMA certification preferred.
• Strong business acumen with ability to explain financial insights clearly to non-finance colleagues.
• Ability to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Ensure processes and financial decisions are compliant with company policies.
• Advanced Excel skills and ERP experience; Power BI and Sage a plus.
• Excellent English communication; comfortable in a global team.

Responsibilities

• Acts as the finance partner to management, sales, operations and service, providing analysis to support decisions.
• Owns the annual budget, rolling forecasts and long-term plan for the U.S. organization in coordination with Group Finance in Finland.
• Analyzes monthly P&L, balance sheet and cash flow against budget; explains variances and proposes corrective actions.
• Manages cash flow and net working capital forecasting.
• Leads month-end close and prepares monthly reporting package for group consolidation; supports annual audit and statutory statements.
• Ensures GAAP, group policies and internal controls are followed.
• Approves journal entries, adjustments and corrections within authorized limits.
• Signature authority for check disbursements and wire transfers.
• Works with auditors, tax partners and banks.
• Drives continuous improvement of finance processes and systems.
