Job summary

Covaris, a PerkinElmer Company, seeks an experienced Senior Field Applications Scientist (FAS) preferably based in Texas, with 2–3+ years of FAS industry experience. You will train customers, conduct product demonstrations, and support pre-sales technical engagements across Sample Preparation, Genomics, Proteomics, and Epigenomics workflows.

The role reports to the Manager, Field Applications – North America, and requires strong communication, troubleshooting, and cross-functional collaboration

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or a related life sciences discipline preferred.
• 2–3+ years of Field Applications Scientist customer-facing industry experience.
• Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on laboratory experience in molecular biology workflows.
• Exposure to NGS, proteomics, genomics, and sample prep workflows.

Responsibilities

• Lead post-sales customer training and technical education through classroom instruction and hands-on sessions.
• Independently plan and execute customer product demonstrations.
• Partner with Sales Territory Managers as a senior scientific expert for new and existing customers.
• Represent Covaris as a technical leader at trade shows and conferences.
• Serve as senior technical contact for customer inquiries and troubleshoot complex issues.
• Develop technical content and training materials for internal and external use.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to translate feedback into actionable insights.
• Facilitate periodic team mentoring to elevate customer-facing skills.
