Job summary

Covaris, a PerkinElmer Company, seeks a Senior Field Applications Scientist (FAS) based in Texas or Arizona, with 2–3+ years of FAS experience and a proven track record in customer-facing technical engagement. The role supports Covaris Solutions across Genomics, Proteomics, and Epigenomics.

The position requires hands-on molecular biology experience, strong presentations, and travel up to 75% to customer sites and events.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or related life sciences.
• 2–3+ years of Field Applications Scientist customer-facing industry experience.
• Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on laboratory experience in molecular biology workflows.
• Foundational understanding of NGS, Proteomics, Genomics, and DNA/RNA/Protein workflows.
• Hands-on experience with NGS library preparation and biomolecule extraction from tissues, FFPE samples, or cultured cells.
• Strong customer-facing communication and presentation skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 75% to support sales territory managers, customers, KOLs, pre‑sales technical positioning, product demonstrations, and scientific meetings.

Responsibilities

• Lead post‑sales customer training and technical education through classroom instruction and hands‑on sessions.
• Independently plan, lead, and execute customer product demonstrations for commercial objectives.
• Partner with Sales Territory Managers as a senior scientific SME for new and existing customers.
• Represent Covaris at trade shows, conferences, webinars, and customer events.
• Serve as senior technical point of contact for customer inquiries and troubleshoot issues.
• Lead development of technical content and resources for internal and external use.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally to translate feedback into actionable insights.
• Facilitate team mentoring to elevate customer-facing skills.
