Job summary

Ascot Group is seeking a Claims Counsel, Financial Institutions, to join our Financial Lines Claims team. You will conduct thorough investigations, analyze and dispose of FI claims, and provide legal advice to support strategic initiatives. You will collaborate with internal partners to optimize outcomes and service.

This role emphasizes client-centric, risk-aware judgment, and leveraging AI-enabled tools to enhance decision making while maintaining integrity and accountability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree (preferred) or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant legal or claim handling experience.
• Ability to resolve conflicts professionally.
• Sound decisions and negotiation within authority.
• Strong time management and multi-priority handling.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; maintain relationships.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of primary and excess FI claims.
• Analyze, investigate and resolve FI claims with supervision.
• Draft reports reflecting loss development and financial exposure.
• Collaborate with underwriting on significant claim exposures.
• Work with brokers, insureds and counsel to resolve claims.
• Review submissions and manage claims files; maintain knowledge of FI trends.
