Job summary

General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems (GA-EMS) seeks a Facilities Project Planner to lead planning and coordination of facility, capital, renovation, and improvement projects from start to finish.

The role develops project plans, budgets, and schedules, coordinates with internal stakeholders and corporate partners, and reports progress, risks, and actions to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery in compliance with policies and regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, or related field (or equivalent).
• Six+ years of progressively complex experience in project administration and operations in engineering/scientific environment.
• Proven expertise in project planning and scheduling, monitoring and reporting.
• Experience coordinating construction, renovation, capital and facility improvement projects is preferred.
• Experience coordinating multiple stakeholders and corporate service organizations is preferred.
• Strong leadership, communications and interpersonal skills; able to explain complex operational issues.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage plans, budgets, schedules for facility projects.
• Translate requirements into actionable project plans from initiation to completion.
• Liaise between program teams, facilities, EH&S, security and corporate partners.
• Facilitate meetings, document decisions, actions, issues and risks through resolution.
• Monitor progress and provide regular status reports on progress, schedule and budget.
• Identify issues and coordinate solutions with program managers and stakeholders.
• Coordinate operating procedures and processes to support objectives.
• Review costs, productivity, and delivery methods to meet targets.
• Manage small expense projects like AV upgrades, signage and space changes.
• Support occupancy reporting, space planning and limited event planning.
