Job summary

General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems (GA-EMS) seeks a Project Engineer in its Systems Engineering group to lead engineering development of GA-EMS products. The role reports to the Senior Manager of Project Engineering and leads teams up to ~50 engineers, driving technical plans, schedules, and performance across contracts and customers. An engineering background and strong leadership are required.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a bachelor's, master's, or PhD in engineering from an accredited institution.
• Progressive engineering experience with multi-year leadership in projects.
• Strong skills in management, project management, leadership, and communication.
• Experience with PLM/Windchill and systems engineering is desired.

Responsibilities

• Design the engineering development effort and lead the engineering process implementation.
• Manage the aggregate technical team, plan, and performance to plan.
• Coordinate staffing and resource needs across functional groups.
• Lead cross-functional engineering activities and ensure IMS/Budget alignment.
• Present engineering work to senior staff and customers.
