Job summary

Amazon Public Policy seeks a Principal of External Engagement to join our team in Arlington, VA. The person hired for this role will create and own an external engagement strategy for their assigned region in support of Amazon's effort to be the most trusted business and community partner.

The role involves coordinating with local stakeholders, business organizations, and civic leaders; traveling as needed; and leading end-to-end program delivery with senior leadership oversight.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or above in a relevant discipline such as Law, Political Science, Public Policy, Public Affairs or Economic Development.
• 10+ years of public policy, government relations, community relations or related experience.
• Ability to influence, negotiate with, and persuade others.

Responsibilities

• Support engagement with local stakeholders, business organizations, and civic associations in the region.
• Build playbooks and mechanisms to scale external engagement efforts and track progress.
• Collaborate with internal business partners and engage with community and civic leaders.
• Plan and coordinate events to strengthen local partnerships and travel as needed.
• Develop and own an external engagement strategy for the assigned region.
