Job summary

Amazon's Economic Development Policy (EDP) team seeks an experienced professional to support investments in the Americas. This position is based in Seattle. Travel will be required.

As a manager, you will engage with state and local agencies to expand our footprint, support new and existing investments, and navigate permitting and enforcement. You will lead with sound judgment in ambiguous situations and collaborate across stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. Law, Political Science, Public Policy, Public Affairs, Economic Development).
  • 8+ years of experience in government, intergovernmental organizations, or private sector focused on economic development, site selection and real estate.
  • Experience in economic development, including site selection and permitting infrastructure.
  • Leadership experience in industry associations or coalitions.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and negotiate at high corporate and political levels.
  • Strong ethical conduct and professional reputation.
  • Exceptional research and analytical skills.
  • Master's degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Strong understanding of legislative and regulatory proposals.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and analytical skills, including proficient in AI.
  • Ability to work independently in a dynamic environment.

Amazon's Economic Development Policy (EDP) team seeks an experienced professional to support investments in the Americas. This position is based in Seattle. Travel will be required.

We are looking for an experienced economic development professional to support our rapidly growing business operations and real estate footprint in North America. As a manager in this role, you will be responsible for engaging with state and local economic development, planning, transportation, transit, permitting and enforcement agencies to expand our physical footprint and support new and existing investments. The successful candidate will be inquisitive, enthusiastic about technology, and able to demonstrate sound judgment in ambiguous situations.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
