Job summary

Moss is seeking a Senior Manager of External Communications to lead Moss' external communications program, shaping public relations, media outreach, and content that elevates brand visibility and trust.

The role requires strong writing, strategic thinking, and the ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams across national markets. You will manage agencies, oversee social media, and guide a growing communications team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field; Master's degree a plus.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in external communications, public relations, and/or media relations.
• Experience managing PR agency relationships and ensuring deliverables on time.
• Proven ability to manage and develop team members with accountability.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute external communications strategies to advance Moss' brand reputation across markets.
• Manage day-to-day PR and media relations, including press releases and media pitching.
• Build relationships with media contacts and industry publications across national and regional markets.
• Serve as the point of contact for external media inquiries, coordinating responses with the Director of Communications.
• Support issues and crisis communications, coordinating messaging in real time.
• Manage external PR agency relationships with clear deliverables and reporting.
• Oversee corporate social media strategy, content, analytics, and paid campaigns.
• Maintain communications content on the company website to reflect brand standards.
• Develop content across formats (press releases, statements, social copy, web copy).
• Lead communications team members and foster growth in a high-performing environment.
• Leverage AI/ML tools to improve workflows and content quality.
• Track and report external communications performance with data-driven insights.
