Job summary

Moss & Associates LLC is seeking a Senior Manager of External Communications to lead the day-to-day execution of the external comms function. You will manage PR, media relations, issues management, social media strategy, and digital content to boost Moss' brand visibility and reputation.

This role requires coordinating across departments, managing agency relationships, and delivering consistent, high-quality communications in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field.
• Master's degree a plus.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in external communications, public relations, and/or media relations.
• Experience managing PR agency relationships and holding external partners accountable to deliverables and timelines.
• Proven ability to manage and develop team members, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Experience supporting issues management and crisis communications, including executing response plans and coordinating messaging in real time.
• Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to produce polished content across formats and channels.
• Experience managing social media strategy, digital content, and web communications.
• Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Ability to think strategically and execute tactically in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Support development and execution of external communications strategies across markets and geographies.
• Manage day-to-day public relations and media relations, including press releases and media logistics.
• Build and maintain relationships with media contacts and stakeholders across national and regional markets.
• Serve as main contact for external media inquiries and coordinate responses.
• Support issues and crisis communications with real-time messaging under senior leadership guidance.
• Manage external PR agency relationships and ensure clear deliverables and reporting.
• Oversee corporate social media strategy, calendars, content, analytics, and paid campaigns.
• Maintain company website content with accurate, brand-aligned messaging.
• Develop content across formats reflecting Moss' voice and positioning.
• Lead communications team members and foster collaboration and growth.
• Leverage AI and ML tools to improve workflows and content quality.
• Track, measure, and report external communications performance with data-driven insights.
