Job summary

University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee is seeking an experienced Event Manager to plan, organize, and execute campus events for the Lubar College of Business. You will manage budgets, coordinate with internal/external stakeholders, and ensure successful event delivery across receptions, lectures, and competitions.

The role requires strong project management, on-site event management, and collaboration with Marketing & Web teams to promote events. Some early morning or weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum of four years of professional experience planning and coordinating events, programs, executive-level meetings, or similar activities.
• Demonstrated ability to independently coordinate events or projects from planning through follow-up.
• Experience managing multiple events with overlapping timelines and deadlines.
• Coordinated event logistics including vendors, facilities, and technology.
• Provided on-site event management and addressed issues as they arose.
• Strong communication with various stakeholders, clients, vendors, speakers, guests, or participants.
• Developed event-related communications, reports, and assessments requiring accuracy.
• Experience using webinar or virtual meeting tools to support events.

Responsibilities

• Plan Lubar College of Business events from concept through execution and evaluation.
• Manage budgets and reconcile expenditures; prepare reports and funding recommendations.
• Maintain an event calendar and lead planning/debrief meetings.
• Coordinate with Marketing Manager to market events to targeted audiences.
• Coordinate room reservations, catering, AV, and event logistics; manage RSVPs and communications.
• Support college competitions like La Macchia New Venture and Scheinfeld Awards.
